chest. As you breathe out let the chest feel freer and softer. Release a little more in the belly, letting the belly rise and fall with your breathing. Allow the whole of the back to relax. Feel each contact point as it lays on the floor; at each of these points feel the body soften and release. Allow this feeling of expanding and releasing to reach the shoulders. Let any tension drain away, through the shoulders and the arms, out through the wrists and hands and fingers. Let the elbows relax,

imagination up the spine again, letting each little bone relax even more. Let the face relax. Allow the jaw to drop open slightly, the lips to separate a millimetre and feel soft. Let go of the tongue so it rests behind the lower teeth. Let the cheeks relax, feel the weight of the eyeballs releasing gently behind your eyelids. Feel the scalp loosen and relax. Feel the heavy weight of the head on the floor. Feel the easy, gentle flow of breath as it flows evenly through both nostrils. Trace the

gentle, controlled stretch, without any strain, which means they can extend gradually and safely. And once your muscles gain flexibility, they become stronger and better-toned. IT DELAYS THE AGEING PROCESS … Regular practice delays the ageing process by keeping muscles and ligaments moving. Although you may experience muscular aches and pains after a yoga session, these will soon wear off, leaving you refreshed. Yoga should never leave you feeling jumpy or exhausted.
